Text boards are just fine for news and politics.

There isn't as many people in them.

  A powerful force in politics is the political cartoon. China has 5 types of government of which the worst is "the government everyone laughs at". To better their image they effected the Tienanmen Square massacre to obtain "the government everyone fears".

Well, /k/ would be eternally grateful if you reinstated the news board in some fashion.

Maybe then all those stupid "my country can beat up your country" and "lol Nazism" kids would leave us the fuck alone.

I've been thinking about it (I'm pro-/n/ btw) and now I think fewer people is better. Maybe you can't have a live "conversation" but at least there aren't as many trolls and the level of discourse is elevated because the kids aren't around to share their misguided "views" and drown out all the voices of reason.
