I left the text boards for a year, and one of the better features of this board was the ability to reply to one's own posts to form a point and counterpoint argument, that is, two sides of a debate. While this would seem to be a cheap tactic, it actually furthered discussion among others who chose to join in one the debate, creating a long and worthy thread. Now, however, it will appear I am talking to myself, no matter how eloquently my arguments are presented.

Well, the id system is used at a lot of other boards as a way of determining who posted what while still remaining anonymous.
While I would enjoy posting with myself, and yes it is a very good tactic, it still is funny in threads like:
