It's not like wakachan is a mirror of iichan: the individual iichan/wakachan boards are spread across multiple domains (iichan.net, wakachan.org, koichan.net, shinji.net, etc.).  iichan hosts a large percentage of the boards.  Wakachan will get you the front page, but any of the boards hosted on the iichan servers are still inaccessible.
