4chan variant of burned/pwned

Name: Anonymous 2007-04-10 17:13 ID:LQUOGaoo

Hay guys!

Is there any concensus/previous examples of what 4channers say when a previous poster has made a remarkably well aimed and refreshingly sarcastic answer to some other poster?

Something like the college students "burned" and the l33tspeakers "pwned"

Any ideas?

Horses do.  They eat it.

So do sheep, cattle, goats, and donkeys for that matter.

yes

Yes, in this sense, as "cattle" can mean either of two things:

1) All domestic quadrupeds (other than equines, IIRC).  This use is fairly archaic.

2) The species Bos taurus, properly called domestic oxen (as opposed to the extinct wild ox, or "aurochs", Bos primigenius).  Since the term ox is usually now used to mean an adult, castrated-male ox (a "steer") used as a daft animal, the term cattle is usually used for the species as a whole.  Some people use "cows" instead, but a cow is properly a female (and the traditional plural for "cow" is not "cows," but "kine," anyway).

it's not archaic, okay.

Not completely, no, and it's certainly not obsolete.  I've used it myself in that sense.  I said it is "fairly" archaic, by which I mean it's generally considered quaint, and rather rarely used.

It's also possible that it's only archaic in U.S. English.  I can't attest to Commonwealth English on this point (and, for all I know, you may not be in the states).

it is also worth noting that swine and kine should never be housed under the same roof.
