I'm sure this shit is a crime to post. I've gone to the FBI's website, but I'm not sure they would investigate this if I reported it. Hell, they don't do much about 12chan.

Once again someone has exerted personal tastes into the question of legality. There are many many things in real life and on the net that are legal but definitely NOT to everyones tastes, mine included.

The FBI is not going to come after you for a false report as long as the material was at least questionable.  However, why don't you consider reporting it to the anonib mods or site owner if you REALLY think it is illegal.  That site has a pretty well established history of removing illegal material if the mods are aware of it.  I haven't looked at the board in question, but I highly doubt it would have lasted very long if it were illegal.

One of the significant problems in this area is that the laws are very much open to interpretation, and the police have a history of interpreting them more broadly than the courts.  Most websites that I know of try to stay on the safe side so as to avoid legal entanglements, but everyone has a different idea of just what the "safe side" consists of.  NO ONE in their right mind hosts material they know to be illegal unless, perhaps, they are hiding behind tor, freenet, a Russian IP address, or the like.
