Once while browsing /x/ I came upon a copypasta which basically said "all scary things typically have long, pale faces with sharp teeth and black eyes, so what used to look like that that made humans scared of it forever?" Then someone posted a logical explanation which said sharp, big teeth = predator, pale = dead, etc., and someone actually said "come on man, don't ruin it, you have to suspend your disbelief etc." In other words, /x/ is willfully ignorant, ie FAIL. But at least it keeps them concentrated there.
