Just write a script to randomly click on the 4chan ads during the day. You don't see them but 4chan gets money from them to keep running - everyone happy!
Or how about someone else releases a script to do it. Im not going to write a script to do something I dont really care to do anyway. Same reason I havent written a script to monitor Pony Week headlines.

If they're pay per VIEW ads (which I doubt) then simply setting adblock to "hide ads" instead of "remove ads" will load them, but not display them. If they're pay per click ads then... I'm never going to click them so why bother?

I see that the new front page update all but confirms that the ads are "pay per click" making them useless because a lot of people are still going to block them. I mean, viewing doesn't do anything and I sure as hell don't click ads so what's the point of unblocking them?

Even if you do not have any interest in the ad, you still should just click it once and awhile. Open it up on a new tab, then close the tab. You can turn off the auto tab switch so you don't even have to look at it.
You aren't clicking that ad for yourself. Your clicking that ad for 4chan. And without ads there is no 4chan. And yes, the ads are bullshit. But the companies behind the ads are not. and they give the money to 4chan.
So you can either click it once a day and get it over with. Or you can be stubborn as hell and not, your choice. But remember, if enough of you are that stubborn then there will be no more 4chan.
Its simple cause and effect.
When I was younger I didn't want to drive my sister anywhere because the places that she wanted to go to I had no interest in. Yet I had to do it else I lost my car privileges. Same concept here.
