Crazy ISP /b/ blockers.

Name: mysterious_w !LocM9vbZZ6 2006-06-10 11:46

If you're one of the unlucky people for whom /b/ is blocked, you'll probably know BT and NTL are the blockers.

My ISP is NTL, and while looking at the source file for the 404 page you get when trying to get to /b/, I found a broken image link with this url:

http://data-ops4-glfd.server.ntli.net/test.img

Going to the parent directory, http://data-ops4-glfd.server.ntli.net, I found some interesting stuff. There's a few .htm files such as this one http://data-ops4-glfd.server.ntli.net/ink.htm , which just contain the phrase  "You should never see this page in real life". Hmmmm....

Looking in the /ehealth directory there's even more random crap, what the heck does this image have to do with.. well.. anything?!?

This one here looks like it might be one of those 3D-glasses images

Poke around more people, this is really odd.

This seems to be a webcache-related thing. Therefore, the solution would be to bypass the NTL proxy. The only way to do this is to specify your own proxy. The solution, therefore, is to set up a local proxy on your PC (Privoxy should be able to do it), and then use that instead of the transparent NTL proxy.
