Petition for /het/ board.

Name: Anonymous 2006-04-29 13:21

Some of the girls (they exist on internet btw) thinks that unfair to not let them to post hetero couples or girls on the male only /cm/ board. They want:

- /het/ Hetero board without arguments
or
- Clear rules what kills the male only status of /cm/ (in this case the board shuld be renamed to Cute/Whatever?)
or
- Clear the rules of /c/ what includes the "couples allowed" status.

When the new boards were being added recently I asked for either 1) the rules to be defined clearly to stop petty disputes or the better choice 2) to just grant us a hetero couples board for pictures. Doug said it wasn't going to happen, which was truly disappointing. I honestly believe people will contribute to a board like this and that it will be popular. It would stop all this pathetic fighting and make everyone happy.

I know adding a board for every little argument is ridiculous, but if something like a Papercraft & Origami board can be added, why not a board that is in high demand and makes sense? Anime/Cute and Cute/Male are popular, but this subject matter just doesn't fit in on either one and has more than enough content to sustain another board. A happier 4chan is a better 4chan...and a place people love to contribute to. Please consider what the people who post here have to say. Thank you.

Personally, I'd like for het couples to be okay in /cm/ and see no need to rename it. I think it'd be fine to just try and keep the board male-focused (and sometimes those males may be in pictures with females).

I (the op) thinks a /het/ board would be wonderful. Not just save /cm/ from attenuation but girls really get what they want. /cm/ was a nice place, mostly without fight, but these days it is more like nest with frustrated people. I didn't got so many insult in a year like the last few week, mostly 'cuz protecting the original idea and rules of /cm/. A /het/ board would clam down the nerves and everybody can be as happy as was before.

On one hand, I don't think it'd be a problem if the occassional het picture showed up on /cm (as long as the focus was still on the male in the picture). On the other, it'd be really annoying if /cm suddenly turned into HET CENTRAL!! and was all about posting pairings rather than guys.

Name: Anonymous 2006-04-29 14:27

Another here for /cm/.  Here's my reasoning behind het going there, as opposed to /c/.  Men, in their pictures of women, tend to go for straight-out hotness.  That's all well and good, and assuredly women like that too, but they also, from my experience, seem more focused on relationships between characters.  Like, a pairing can be more popular than a character.

With that mentality, and the fact that the majority of the people who post het relationship pics are women (many of whom therefore hang out in /cm/), it seems the most practical place for them.

I totally agree with >>6 A /het/ section should be the last resort (if the hetero couples get out of hand) A /het/ board would be wonderfull nontheless.

"relationships between characters. Like, a pairing can be more popular than a character."

This is exactly what I don't want to see. /cm is *not* about relationships between men and women it's about MALES. The occassional incidental girl on /cm? Fine, no problem. A bunch of pairing threads which are as much about Sakura as Naruto (or whatever)? Sucky.

Thats why /het/ board would be more practical than /cm/, where the preferred relationship is male/male.

Name: Anonymous 2006-04-29 14:42

Forgot to mention, /het/ board can be more than just couples. Group pictures with more male+female characters should posted here too+family stuffs.

Yeah, that would be awesome

*nods*  This would be a wise idea I think, or at least make allowances for hetero couples within /cm/, at least in the allowance of posting a picture where the male in question is the main focus.  Either that or rename the /c/ section to be more conducive to this sort of posting.  As it stands, males do not seem particuarly welcome within its galleries.

Name: Anonymous 2006-04-29 16:30

I think that a /het board would be nice...but the recent development of being able to post hetero couples in anime/cute may possibly solve this problem...but yeah. This would be nice, but not necessary.

Name: Anonymous 2006-04-29 21:50

I would appreciate a /het/ board, too.

Name: Anonymous 2006-04-29 22:23

hetero is boring. This is the future, damn it. We shouldn't be fapping to the same old crap.

/het/ board!

Internet newsflash: Girls can't fap

I personally think a /het/ board would be the best solution, but a change of rules in /cm/ is fine too.

If you haven't noticed the other topics on this board, you will see that replies are few and far between to begin with. I'd say this is a decent turn out considering not many people even bother to look twice at the text boards.

Anyway, it's nice to see people finally talking civily about this topic. To address some of the other posts generally... when we start having to split hairs about how much of a woman can be in a picture to post it on /cm/ (and on the flipside, a man in /c/), it just adds to the problem I think. People will continue to argue about trivial points. The problem needs an overall solution and I am still hoping will we get a cute couples board. If not, I am hoping that it won't be restricted to one board and just be allowed on both without certain limitations.

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-01 9:22

/c is very welcome to both male/female pairings and female/female though the latter is seldom posted. However I could understand on how /cm is very touchy on the issue of male/female pics. /cm is a "sister" board of /y after all, while /c is a relative board to /a.

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-01 9:24

I think a /het/ board would be awesome, and I don't see the problem in a test run.
I had little hopes for the cosplay board but it seems it's holding up

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-01 9:27

I browse neither /c/ nor /cm/, and likely would not even if they welcomed hetero couple etc. material. I, however, would browse a /het/ board.

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-01 9:27

To some degree, "heterosexual" pics might be able to fit into /c/ or /cm/, but I would rather just there be a place where people can wallow in heterosexuality without having to worry about bothering people who aren't interested in one of those genders.

So yeah, a vote for /het/.

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-01 12:35

The het threads seem to be going down okay in /c (as long as there are no solo male pictures)...

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-01 12:38

I'd like a /het/ board. Some girls in /cm/ can get very..uhm...frantic when they see a girl. And I don't really hang in /c/, but whenever I go there all I see it's loli. But then again, I don't really hang there so I don't know...

My vote is on the /het/ board, anyway

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-03 12:02

So, are the mods going to do something with this or not?

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-03 12:26

I have no idea. But couples fits in /c/ so the status quo is at least settled.

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-10 5:39

Bump for /het/ board D:

Feel free to replace "fap" with your gender specific masturbation onomatopoeia. The point still stands. Hetero is fucking boring.

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-13 16:49

I'd cast a vote for a /het/ board.
but you know, you could always just go to iichan.  they have one there, afterall.
