What is the best way to go about making admins and/or mods a certain color when they post on a wakaba or kareha board?

Coloring admins and mods is gay.
Seriously, it's a stupid idea that only looks good on the surface.

Coloring (capcodes) are not a stupid idea because otherwise you'd have to list who the admin and mods are and then constantly link to it somewhere - even dumber.
And you cannot do capcodes on Wakaba, I think.

(You should have asked this question on that board to begin with, btw)

I disagree. For an anonymous board, why would you care who the admins are?
If a polite request doesn't deal with the problem, I doubt a bit of colour will. On the contrary, coloured tripcodes seem to make targets of themselves instead. You can't tell me the mods on 4chan don't draw fire.
Besides, it's great fun when someone comes along, makes a major jackass of themselves, you request them to stop, and they tell you you can't do a thing. o rly?

I think you are underestimating authority. If nobody has a clue about something that causes trouble, it's handy to have a mod step in.
And this is only for exceptional cases. Nobody is supposed to advertise themselves with capcodes or post with a known tripcode profile and as a known mod all the time. moot & Snacks have brought everything on themselves in this regard.

I also think so, but does that normally happen? Or are moot and snacks examples of the common case?
I think most mods are immature and like seeing their name in colour. Granted, it's their choice, but I still don't think it will work out well. I'm willing to gamble >>1 is one of them too (sorry if I'm wrong).

90% of the time a mod will post in a thread without capping at all. The only time you ever see a capcode is a rare instance where it is felt to be necessary. A good example of this is making examples of posts that are horrible and shouldn't be posted. Announcements are another good reason; it's important to be offical when representing the site. Lastly, most moderators will post anonymously capcoded on the offchance the use a capcode at all.

a) I don't believe it.
b) Even 10% is too high.

It's maybe under 50%, the rest are anonymous capcode posts.
Usually we just delete the post or the thread, it's easier.

That's a problem of the staff and it's their responsibility to not let in stupid people in. It's not the software's fault and it's not a reason to scrap the idea.
