What's up with fps vs. fps infighting?

I just don't get it. People who play this game talk shit on people who play that game. People shit on Call of Duty the most, why does it got to get so much flak. I never understood people hating on a certain game, especially when people say that one game is inferior to another. I play CoD, I play Battlefield, I play Halo and TF2 and enjoy each equally. How do you feel about people infighting between games?

I think it's more that some games (like CoD) are shat on by everyone because they're awful, and then most people have their own idea of what a great FPS looks like, be it Quake, Halo, or Postal 2.

So post number 2, you just kinda did exactly what I was talking about in post number 1, which is my primary reason for making this. You just call CoD shit for no reason and then say insert other fps here is great. But thanks for posting to showing an example of the close minded attitude originally stated.

The feels tell me that a lot of the haters gonna hate because of apparent juvenile play styles, reactions, chats, voips, etc. For the "real world modern" it seems to usually be:

CoD < BF < ARMA

pre-teens in CoD shit on themselves, elitists in BF shit on CoD, and those in ARMA are too busy getting shit on by the realism of a bullet hitting their neck from half a mile away when not even engaging the enemy yet.

well I look at it like this, as a heavy gamer, If I want a fun game, the devs need to work on the engine. CoD still feels like CoD4, which was a really fun/sick game but as soon as the rest flooded in, it went to hell. At least Dice decided it was time to upgrade the game engine to incorporate everything being added. CoD always seems to be adding flashy things that we'll more than likely see in 2060+. Arma is a all around great game, I'll never drop that. To much simulation for me to dip. earlier post has a point about you can be multiple meters out, not engaging anyone, an outta nowhere, u catch a bullet. I'd love to see console games get to that point of being a simulator but we all know that would take much money and time, and eventually a PC would out do what that console does. I play both PC and console and love every aspect of both. They both are fun. Minus CoD. Rather not play with children and pedophiles.

It's some tribalism shit you see. People like things, and they think that people liking other things is an attack on them. It's not very logical.

Every one shits on COD for a few reasons;
1. It's community is retarded
2. Each game has about a years worth of production value.
3. The game is too easy, has a low skill ceiling and makes casuals feel hardcore.
4. The game is completley unbalanced.
5. It provides you with the most bullshit kills and deaths.
6. NOT FUN.
I recommend CounterStrike, where atleast the '1337 pr0 circlejerk awper' has some sort of skill, and does not need COD's retarded aim assist.
