You know, I was hating on the console version too, but I actually played it on 360 over at a bro's place and it was really fun and looked great. I forgot that I shouldn't just hate something because I don't normally use it.

Ugh, what? I was going to buy this, but I fucking hate it when games do that. Is it a one time thing or will I need Steam open to play it?
Could always buy it then download a crack I guess.

Skyrim doesn't require you to download it through Steam. At most I think it's 500 MB that you download after it copies everything from the disk, since they left out key bits of the files on the disks.

I pirated the encrypted Skyrim ISO a few days before release on my free usenet server with 30 days retention. Got the crack from the shitrow website maybe 20 minutes or so after the aus release. Talked to my buddy from Australia set up a VPN with him decrypted the files and installed through phoenix and then promptly cracked that shit and was playing about an hour after it was released on the other side of the world (I'm Canadian).
Pirates always win.

Run TESV.exe from the installation directory.
You need the Steam launcher to run the Skyrim launcher, though.
