Rockstar will be using actor Ned Luke as the voice and likeness for the game's protagonist, Albert de Silva, with the same technology that was used in LA Noire to capture facial expressions and motions.
Albert is a reformed criminal from the Midwest who moves to Los Santos to settle down. He is currently divorced and shares joint custody of a FPS-obsessed, foul-mouthed teenage son and a young daughter. Albert gets caught dragged back into his old ways when he is unable to make ends meet with child support and ends up losing most of his stuff to his ex-wife.
Some missions have you overseeing and providing security for drug deals and the transportation of drugs that involve other criminal organizations and Asian-American street gangs. Some of these mission strands take place in and around Rockstar's version of Los Angeles' Downtown, Chinatown and Koreatown districts, the latter aptly named Little Seoul. Your contact is an non-English speaking, rather buffoonish member of the Triads who could be likened to Ken Jeong's portrayal of Asian gangster Leslie Chow in The Hangover.
The more money you acquire in-game, the more attention you will garner from Rockstar's version of the I.R.S. causing the Feds to come down on you and investigate. You will have to regularly launder your money to keep attention off of yourself and by association, your contacts as well. A new dynamic is going to be introduced where some major characters can turn on you and order your death or stop working with you altogether if they believe you aligned with the F.I.B.
The main antagonists of the game will be a pair of clean-cut Federal agents. The contrast here between yourself and the supposed "bad guys" of this game will be quite interesting as technically, you are the bad guy and the Feds are the good guys from a neutral stand point but the protagonist will share alot in common with one of the pair as the two both have family and on-going financial problems. They even go as far as regarding each other highly and respecting each other.
