Die2Nite is a new browser game developed by Motion Twin.
The game is a zombie survival game, but plays out much differently than you may imagine when you first hear that.
First - for the whole town to do well, you all need to work together. This game is one of the very best for having people come together to do well. Instead of most games where people run off and work for themselves, you work as a whole here to help everybody.
That's not to say someone can't be selfish. Just as in a real crisis, some people will be sneaky and self serving and try to build up themselves over others. That is a totally acceptable play style - but watch for repercussions from fellow town members if caught.
There are a lot of different ways you can play the game. If you are going to be selfish, you need to be sneaky doing it for the most part. That is a strategy in itself.
For me the biggest thrill is working with others to make sure everybody lives as long as you can. People come together unlike in any other game. You'll start to really care about your fellow citizens, despite the fact that you WILL die.
That's right, everybody dies! It's just a matter of time. The strategy comes into place in how long you live. The longer the better - but even short games can be dramatic and fun.
Each game plays out differently, you really never know what you're going to get. Items, outdoor areas, the number of zombies, the other 39 people in your town, there is so much that comes into play that each time is a new challenge.
And just when you may start to get bored - totally new types of towns open up to you with bigger maps, many more options and wild new gameplay mechanics (at the time of this writing it's considered a spoiler to mention, so you'll have to wait to see!).
