Minecraft sucks

I got Minecraft (Alpha) yesterday. I played for a few hours. I made a castle, a dungeon, and a house. I realized that's pretty much what the entire game was. It's like Legos, but slower and you can kill stuff. If you're thinking about getting it, the free version is almost exactly the same. The weapons/enemies don't really add anything to the game. Don't waste 9.95 Euros on it.

With Minecraft version 1.8 being released somewhere the next week, Notch decided to stream 50 minutes of him playing it on twitch.tv, showcasing a surprising amount of new features implemented:
* Improved intro screen (with landscape backdrop)
* Creative mode allows you to fly, gives you infinite items, and prevents death
* New biome code (with larger biomes, about seven in number so far, including plains, forests, deserts, mountains, oceans and rivers)
* Villages (randomly generated, without NPCs)
* Endermen (which are rare) (Endermen go all red when charging you, and they die from water. They pick up random blocks at the moment, but Notch is considering changing that.)
* Watermelons
* Improved arching (Holding mouse button charges shots.)
* Lots and lots of SPARKLES everywhere (I'm not even kidding - Minecraft has gone Twilight with the new animations.)
* An XP bar (Killed mobs will drop green XP orbs that will be sucked up by the player, but the XP system itself is still unfinished. In future updates XP will be used to level up quote "individual skills".)
* Dashing/sprinting (with dash attack)
* A silverfish mob
* Improved dungeons (Randomly generated, even mineshafts with rails, and strongholds)
* Cobwebs hanging about (slowing down the player movement)
* Improved lighting (but no HDR)
* Much faster code (with rain rendering much faster)
* The bottom of the world features dark claustrophobic fog and dust particles, and you die if you drop past the bottom layer

It also turns out MinecraftChick was a boothbabe all along. Not surprised.

Overall a lot of improvements, but still no chemo that will cleanse the game from retards and furries.
