I got Minecraft (Alpha) yesterday. I played for a few hours. I made a castle, a dungeon, and a house. I realized that's pretty much what the entire game was. It's like Legos, but slower and you can kill stuff. If you're thinking about getting it, the free version is almost exactly the same. The weapons/enemies don't really add anything to the game. Don't waste 9.95 Euros on it.

I can see how this whole thing is Curses fault:
1 - Notch hires Curse to take care of the forums and the wiki.
2 - Curse thinks games are for children and the occational loon.
3 - Curse bans the old fanbase because they think it's creepy that mature people hang out on what they think is a CHILDRENS site. (They're obviously out to RAPE these children somehow - why else would they be there?)
4 - The fanbase left (children) then proceeds telling a confused Notch what to turn Minecraft into.
