A message for those who remember System Shock

Hello /games/.

I assume you all know of the Gamespot "All Time Greatest Game Villain" contest.

The first round started recently, and... Well, something is going horribly, horribly wrong.

I assume you all know of the System Shock games, yes? Well, to those of you that do... SHODAN is losing to GLaDOS 33 to 67 percent.

Seeing as SHODAN was a major inspiration for GLaDOS, and seeing as SHODAN's goals are actually evil, while GLaDOS didn't perceive her actions as such, and in fact was forced into what could be considered a logic loop FORCING her into her actions in Portal, this is an anomaly that must be rectified, immediately.

Knowing that the people here are video game fanatics, I came hoping to find people that remember System Shock... And might tip the scales in favor of sanity.

So... Do we have a deal?

No way GLaDOS was more evil, she lied about the cake.

Ah, so it is, the new endlessly overtaking the old, the copies forever obscuring the originals, the breathtaking and exciting replaced piece-by-piece by the tired and dull.

Not that GLaDOS is bad... but if it bothers you that 70% of the people who are voting in that contest have never played System Shock... well... just don't let it bother you!
