If you were to compare Fallout 1 to Fallout 2, the first is basically a cute petite blonde while the other is an stripper with implants and a the face of Chris Avellone.
Obviously, Mass Effect II is the best game. Fallout III is good, but I wasn't really feeling the excitement in Fallout I and II.

Bethesda's game. Avellone is about to prove to everyone how poor he is next to what they did with 3, sure those gritty little games from pc past might seem impressive if you make up for their technological limitations in your head but when we see new vegas in the same light (and engine) as 3 the deficiencies will become clear.
(of course I do wanna be proven wrong and for this to be the best game of all time but expecting a hit from the people who brought us 'alpha protocol' and 'kotr II the broken sith' is like expecting...well I haven't got a comparison cos thats the one I normally use for things that are freakin unlikely)
