Old but good rpg's

Any old rpgs that are still fun to play? I'm talking Castle of the Winds type old.

Also does anyone remember or know of this game? All I can remember was that you didn't have to be playing/logged into the game for it to level your character. It did it automatically. So it was pretty much just a character simulator type game, where it'd do encounters and level up and such. It was touted as a game for busy people and the only real goal was seeing how long you could run a character.
