Do you support game shops?

Personally, I like browsing in game shops and enjoy seeing them on the highstreet, but there is also a massive online market pulling them into the abyss of a bygone age.

I love them. Especially those shops that aren't the massive chains like Gamestop or... well, Gamestop (I forgot EB Games got bought out).

There are so many rare gems there that I wish I could buy the whole store out at once.

Why not buy? There's a different feeling when holding a game then there is downloading it.

Most video game shops suck ass. They sell their shit for way too much and have very little or are Gamestop. One shop near me was selling FF7 with scratched to shit discs, no booklet and a cracked case for $80. It wasn't even black label either. Fucking idiots run these places. Another place in the Mall of America had some cool stuff, but everything was mad expensive. Nothing was under $20 except maybe a few NES games and those were all over $15.

The only good one I've been to was the Pink Godzilla in Seattle. No game from bellow the PS2 era was more than $20 bucks and the vast majority of them were below $10 and they had a HUGE selection from every system back to the NES that was about 25% import and was still mostly below $10. I got Namco X Capcom from there for $20. The kicker was that they were selling a Tactics Ogre strategy guide in perfect condition there. Coolest fucking place ever.

I agree to some extent. They have become retail switchovers rather than a "games haven" where everyone knows about games and enjoys them. Independant ones are better, but I guess that's capitalism for you. Big chains getting more and more frequent :(.
