Help finding an old game

Name: Anonymous 2009-08-14 16:16

I'm looking for a old game that I used to play around 8-10 years ago. I think it worked in Windows 95 but it might as well be a DOS game.

Is a strategy game in which you had to manage a country (I think you could chose between different, real countries) as president. The game had an isometric view of the country, showing cities, factories and other stuff, and you could build different structures like power plants, army bases, et-cetera that took a realistic time to build (3-4 game years for a nuclear power plant, for example) so you had to plan ahead. You could as well define policies for the country, about drugs, abortion, taxes, et-cetera. You could even go to war with other countries if I remember correctly. I also think that if you were kicked out of the presidency after elections because of lack of popularity, the game would end, but I'm not totally sure of this.

I've been looking for this game now and then from time to time but I have never been able to remember the name or development studio or distributor, so I had no luck in finding it, but I'm sure that if I see a screenshot of the game I will be able to recognize it instantly.

Thanks for the link, I checked the 6 pages and unfortunately it seems the game I'm looking for, is not there... I have checked the full strategy sections of other abandonware websites in the past, but it never appeared.

have you tried searching for sim city clones?

This game is not a clone of Sim City, the focus was running the country, not only a city, and usually policy and R&D decisions were the important ones, not so much construction ones.

I also checked the whole strategy section of Abandonia to no avail.

Shadow President?

Yeah, somebody in another forum told me about Shadow President too. I checked it out, and it's closer to the game I'm looking for, but it's not that one, the one I'm trying to remember is more modern. I remember clearly that it was in high-resolution, 640x480 or 800x600 at least, for sure not 320x200.

Don't change these.
