Dead Space or RE5?

Name: Anonymous 2009-01-12 21:53

Ok, I own dead space, and I also have a copy of the resident evil 5 demo. I love dead space, and I also love resident evil 4. But resident evil 5, considering when its coming out, feels really outdated for its time. Its almost as if all japanese developers are stuck in the damn 90s, because gameplay and physics wise, they never change anything. RE4 was great for its time, and for RE5 to come out and be the same game, just in high def graphics, I just don't think it will be enough to be as good as RE4 was. So what do you think will be the better game, dead space or RE5?

Dead Space.
If only Dead Space was out when they were developing RE5...

Dead Space definitely. There's absolutely nothing that i see particularly interesting about RE5. Seems to be RE4, except that the "zombies" are now black. Honestly, just read the story section on the wikipedia page and wait til japan comes out with an interesting game. I'm not saying that RE5 won't be fun. If you're looking for fun, you have nothing to loose. But if you're looking for inventive gameplay or gameplay that doesn't seem forced (like the whole "YOU NEED HELP FROM UR PARTNER TO SCALE THIS WAL!" or "HAVE THAT GIRL THROW YOU ACCROS THIS HERR GAP AND SHE"LL JUMP AFTUR YU!" thing that's been done many times before, and sucked every time) then you shouldn't put too much toward it money-wise.

Borrow it from a friend, i say.

Dead Space.

RE4 was terrible compared to 1/2/3. The only better thing was the aiming system and camera.
Seriously, random drops from enemies? A merchant? No zombies? There was no survival and no horror.

agreed with that one no zombies with resident evil makes no sense what so ever. but if you already own dead space why not buy RE5 too. I mean think about it the achievements for RE5 must be pretty creative and adding both games to your library is the smarter path to go!

Dead Space:  beat game in 10 hours or less, return to hollywood video/blockbuster/gamefly.

RE5: beat game in 12-20hrs., get to play co-op, probably have some unlockables, preorder the game and get cool things with it.

Don't change these.
