UT99 hates Vista

Name: blurgn 2008-05-16 21:44

Hey, /games/, I have a problem and would appreciate some help. Maybe this is more a question for Technology, but maybe not.

I try to run UT99 on my Vista PC, (this one) but before it even starts up, it says "UNREALTOURNAMENT.ICD has stopped working." And then I close the program. I'm not the greatest at fixing computer problems, and Google didn't show that anyone else on the internet.com has had trouble with this particular file.

If anyone could help me, they would surely earn 1000 internet.coms.

I already have this problem! =O
It works the fist time I start it up before I have choosed graphics drive thing..... but then "UNREALTOURNAMENT.ICD has stopped working." comes up every time :S

I think it depends on which graphics drive (or what ever it's called) you choose. I have chosen The Direct3D because it makes the game look soo much better on my computer, though I think it should work if I choose Softwere rendering in the very begining, But it hurts, because if I do that the graphics won't be as good and it'll be a little choppy of some reason. =/

Now I have foun a solution!! =D

If you just start the game via the disc every time you run it it will work :D

You always have to have the disc in the CDrom, right? But instead of just starting he game on it's ordinary icon... click on the CDrom Icon in the "Computer"-window to start the luancher. Then press Play and it will work =D

no

if you install the last patch UT99 doesn't need it

every UT has been like this

Don't change these.
