Because the other thread sucks because its just an ad for fagbaldia, so, in this one let us list sites to get real music from, I shall begin, being the OP, which makes me the coolest person up on in and otherwise about this thread.
[snesmusic.org]
probably the most important, regularly updates and adds new sets, now has a torrent of the full archive which is something they hadnt had before, which made getting everyset a fucking pain in the ass for me back in 03 or 04
[zophar.net]
this will cover most of your needs outside of spc700 chip shit, supposedly some people come here for those, however as to why i don't exactly know, it does boast a nice collection of hes, gbs, nsf, gym, vgm, usf and others like whatever the gba sound format is. playstation maybe, game gear is on vgm with master system, they might have c64 and atari maybe but for most of these things there are more dedicated sites to each specific format with a much bigger collection, and probably more oftenly updated.
but this is a good starting point for anyone who has nothing but mp3s, doesn't even know who hitoshi sakimoto or even hisayoshi ogura are, but still has played pre playstation games and enjoyed them. if you are looking for soundtracks to bad games on ps2, try galbaldia for sure, or maybe someone will post a site that has rips but i'd recommend just using psound and ripping the music from that. however a good site for ps1 and 2 music rips will probably have all the good stuff which means shit you dont have the cd for (not sure if you can use psound with emulated/virtual cds i dont know i havent tried it).
