What is the best way to play a Japanese PS2 game?

I'm not that much of an electrician so I don't want anything that requires soldering and if possible I'd like to get something that doesn't require me to open it up and void the warranty.  Ideally I'd like to buy a mod kit that I can apply externally to an NTSC PS2 to allow me to play JNTSC and PAL games.

1 - I've heard that the "Magic Switch" allows you to modify a slim PS2 ver.7XXXX-75XXX without opening it, but is that all you need: the Magic Switch Kit or do you also need to buy an accompanying "Swap Magic" CD?

2 - If I do the "Swap Magic" thing will it work for JNTSC, PLA, and NTSC?

Thanks, /games/

Soldering is easy as fuck.  If you have half-decent motor skills, the right kind of solder, and a mod chip, you can install it in about 2 seconds.  Just keep the tip of the iron covered in solder, don't connect the wires, and don't burn yourself.  Easy.

OK, it may be easy but I'd still rather not. Are you saying the only way to do this is to solder a chip in because I'm pretty sure you're wrong.
