Steam issues

My story.
I got the orange box yesterday. I install it. play it. and have a fantastic time.
Move to this morning. I dont have a select steam icon on my desktop... so i search for steam.exe and copy and paste that onto the desktop. I log on and go to my games... to find that ALL of them are "uninstalled".

In shock i go back to my desktop to find ALL of my steam folders there. So... because none of these folders are where they should be because for some reason they chase after steam.exe... none of my games work....

Any advice, or a telling of where to put these files would be great.

You, being an idiot decided to move ALL of steam there. Put it back in it's correct destination. You move shortcuts to the Desktop not folders... or exe's... or what ever you did. If they followed the exe it's because steam relocates things based off it running. It's stupid. At first installation it puts them in peculiar places. put everything back in X:/programfiles/steam/ Bam. Don't be so stupid next time.

Don't change these.
