On top of that people that prefer nonconsole controls get shitted on when they release the PC versions over a year after the console one comes out. If you have people wait for the other version it should be on the same caliber as the original game you assholes.

Halo only got so much fanboy goo all over it because console retards had never seen things like 'first person shooters' or 'attempt at plot' before, and creamed themselves with glee. The only interesting thing in the original was the use of vehicles; everything else was old hat and so it never really impressed the PC gamer crowd when it came out on the platform, or even when they saw its stuff in the console release. And while they get the games later, they typically get rewarded with a graphics boost (Halo 1 and 2 for PC run at HD resolution, as do all PC games due to not using a shitty tv for output. Also better texture drawing) and a few extra levels/guns/stuff. Sides, any half competent PC user was playing Halo 2 on an XBox emulator as soon as it came out, and being seriously let down by the shitty ending.

I agree that Halo generally gets more praise than it deserves in the media but personally I think the game is still above average quality. I'm a console and PC gamer, but I remember when Halo was released on the Xbox and I played it for the first time, I was just hooked.
I think the Halo franchise is doing very well, however it's not the best FPS and although the 'Haloverse' is pretty addictive, I don't think Bungie does enough in the games to show people their take on the universe. Anyway long story short; I think Half-Life is a lot better to be honest.

I never got why Halo got so much publicity and was held in such high standards. Sure, the storyline was above average for a shooter, but gameplay-wise it had nothing that hadn't been done on the PC years before. Same with Halo 2. Even the multiplayer didn't offer anything new to a PC veteran and you had to pay if you wanted to play.

As usual, MS is probably losing more money marketing this game than they'll gain selling it (and all related accessories). Look at the XBOX and XBOX360. If it were any other company their XBOX division would've been terminated long ago.
They'll make alot of money, sadly. In the tri-state area of the states, the streets were littered with Halofags waiting till midnight to either get the game or play it at the local net cafes, and there are alot of those around here. It's all weeaboo and wanabe-asians and it gets annoying quite quickly. But, yeah. Due to these hyped up losers and the cost to play it over a network, MS will at the very least get back what they spent on advertising.
The worse thing of this, there was a Halo/Goldeneye special on TV, on the only channel in my area with decent stuff on TV no less.

I prefered the Turok trilogy over the Halo trilogy. Seriously, the only thing Halo did different was have you throw grenades and riding vehicles all over the place in multiplayer. Yeah, sure, Halo looked better. That was it. I'll admit to not playing the third one, but considering the story of the first two, it sounds alot less interesting than Turok's story.
Halo only has graphics over Turok. Nothing else.
I would want any Halo player who loved the third one to say something that makes Halo different from all others. Because as things stand, Halo is only overhyped and generic with the added use of vehicles and a lacking depth in multiplayer.

Layout the story then and just code hide any spoilers. I am only familiar with Halo 1's story and from what people described of Halo 2's story (only checked the multiplayer at a friends house) it sounded blah. I mean, at the time I thought the only thing that people went big over the game was the multiplayer, so I assumed single player was only what was described.
I want to know how big the story is. Because as far as depth in FPS stories go, I only considered the Turok and 007 series to have worthwhile single player stories.
