Sage comes from the Japanese word "sageru", or to lower. Sage is used to "lower" threads on 4chan boards to the point where they are not read.

Likewise, Age comes from "ageru", or to raise. However, using age in the email field doesn't do anything and is more of a feel-good type action.

I don't care if someone types sage. I'll keep posting.
