Keeping save?

Hello /games/, is it possible to keep my game save from a GBA emulator if I had the ability to put the ROM on one of those flash-carts?

I've played Pokemon Emerald on my PC before and now that I'm grabbing an actual DS I feel like keeping my progress and being able to transfer crap...

Anyone know if It's possible?
