FF7 Crash :/

Name: Anonymous 2007-04-26 15:24 ID:KmAu8STk

don't fail me 4chan!

I have a legit Windows XP SP2, with 1GB of Ram, plenty of hd space, a 3.2 MHZ pentium vi processor, and a x300 Radeon graphics card....

I used to be able to run FF7 (after patching like crazy, and running config setups) without problems...

I just popped in my CD after about a year or so of installing windows updates etc... and I heard the starting squaresoft logo music, then it was a blank black screen... I couldn't get back to my explorer screen wihtout putting my computer on standby and end processing ff7...

Is there something new that I should be doing?

Just emulate the PS version. It's vastly superior anyway.

WRONG. At least, if you have a DB50XG or equivalent. Not to mention higher resolution on the PC, anti-aliasing, nearly unlimited save slots...yeah.

Wow, nearly unlimited save slots! If only there was some way of saving the game in an emulator that didn't use up memory card space - maybe some sort of "state" based save that would work even when you aren't at a save point. That would be fucking awesome! Too bad.

Don't change these.
