I've played this game for a while, (i was around when I could actually buy the game and have it come with a fullcolor manual!) but I still suck. i realise that everyone who plays now is uber god at 3d combat, but I had one question.

Is there a way to record a demo of a match such that you can change who's player you follow?  so you can see what they see, figure out tactics, etc?

Yes you can, you need to find a script called democam.cs and install it then while watching a demo you can control a camera and follow anyone.
