Of course Blizzard wants to profit off of WoW, what did you expect?

that's the point, that's not only profit greed, that's nearly criminal
you pay for 30*24 hours but who can play that much? and the time you can't play is still taken away
THAT'S JUST ULTRA GAY
THAT'S GAYZARD XD

Many people get 100-200+ hours of entertainment from WoW every month. Any other form of entertainment would be much more for that duration of time. Do the math- $15/200+hrs=$>0.075 per hour, or just $0.15+/hour for those who don't play as much, but still play quite a lot. Many hardcore WoW players play even more than that, but because there are many "casual" WoW gamers, it lowers the average. Movie tickets cost ~$10, plus the cost of food, and they're only 1-3 hours long, usually around 1.5-2.0. That's ~$5-7/hour, not including food and drinks. Hookers are even more expenisve. Waaaay more expensive. Also, STDs.
The bottom line is that WoW is fun and cheap for the amount of enjoyment people get out of it. You don't have to play it if you don't want to. Let WoW players play WoW and STFU if you don't like it. End of discussion.
One last thing- Blizzard is a company that develops online games. Wow is very bandwidth-intense, and it isn't exactly free to have a player on 200+ hours a month. They need the $15 a month to not only pay their employees and bandwidth fees, but to also help fund new projects to keep their players content. Example: The Burning Crusade.
a lot of mmorpgs are so devoid of actual game content, they defeat the purpose of a game providing a unique opportunity. If you have a program to do all the boring parts for you, you would realize how little actual content there was. There's nothing wrong with monthly fees but why pay monthly for something you could find in a game made 10 years ago?
Wow is just a replacement grind for your real life grind of school and or work. I knew exactly what to expect before playing Wow, and I played till about mid level 20 before concluding it was complete shit. Games like Wow defeat the purpose of a game reproducing a unique experience in the first place.

Why choose an MMORPG over a single player RPG? MMORPGs allow players to interact with each other, whereas single player RPGs are lonely and for antisocial losers.
The interaction in most mmos is so limited, can be reproduced on irc though

You got that the wrong way around. Antisocial people play MMORPGs because they so desperately want the interaction that they can't get in real life. Single player RPG players are more likely to have at least a trace of a social life.

Actually, it'd be better to try and sell the account.

well, if you try make sure to don't leave any traces to you or maybe the cops will knock on your door because selling fucking blizz's accounts is illegal

Lawl, okay. Any idiot wouldn't sell the intellectual property of blizzard. It can be phrased to make it legal, ie "selling joke with FREE WoW account for $500", "selling piece of paper with WoW account information written on it", etc...
