Ever since the expansion I haven't been able to sign on because the server I play on keeps crashing. Thanks Blizzard, for making people pay for an expansion which we can't even play on.
Or maybe >>9 realizes there's nothing wrong with monthly fees, but MMOs don't do anything MMO specific. And by paying monthly, he would be paying for a service which could be found in offline games made 10 years ago.

The player can do whatever they want with their time. That's their business, nobody else's. If they want to spend it playing games or on dates or even doing nothing then that is THEIR perogative. Second, exactly what would be a better use of their time? If playing WoW is entertaining for them then THAT is what matters. The real losers are the people who have no life outside of flaming other people's activities. To THEM I say get a hobby, GET A LIFE!
