Problems with KH2

Not problems as in I don't like the game but technical problems.  Every time I'm in a real "intense" part of the game (boss fight) and the reaction command is about to come up the screen goes black for a couple of seconds and comes back after the reaction command is over with.  This happens with certain bosses, but not others and the frequency varies with which boss I'm fighting.I'm not sure what the problem could be. 
Maybe it's because of my HDTV? (Philips 26PF5320/28) I have the PS2 connected through component cables to the TV, but I've had no problems with any other game like this. 
Maybe it's because of my PS2?  It's slowly starting to die on me (Disc Read Errors), and will only play games if I turn it on and off a bunch of times. 
Or maybe it's my copy of the game......
I really don't know 4chan, but I am calling out for help!

It's probably your PS2.  Though you might want to google the problems with the game to see if it has happened to other players.
