On a related note, I've been throwing an idea around for a while. How about an actual /o/ "online" racing series? Simply set a rule regulating what kind of cars to use (I.E. money limit, or JGTC only, or whatever), and then have a certain number of laps around a specified track, and lowest total time wins. My intent was to use GT4 for it.

Anyone like the idea? It's done pretty commonly on the GT4 boards, but I like the idea of an /o/ series.

I throughly support Maxim's idea.

Name: Char 2006-03-21 4:27

I support his idea.. though I think we should hold axtual events online, not just on the board. Both PS2 and XBox (GT4 and Forza) are able to play online for free, just really need a Broadband Connection to do it decently. Im actually off work the next 3 or 4 days so I can start this stuff if you all like.

Doing it online would be a lot better then on a board... real races, you know? It would be cool to have like 16 real players in one race instead of being by myself on a time trial.

I assume 11 is referring to using a connection to fool the PS2 into thinking it's on the LAN battle, when it's really online? I don't think I can get it to work, swapped my net adapter (and HDD) to a new PS2 when my old one broke, and don't have the config s/w, so I can't get it to work on the new PS2.

Don't have an xbox at all, so forza's not an option for me.

All you need for the PS2 is the network adapter, you plug it into the network and use a program onthe PC to tunnel it through the internet.
