What game or aspects of a game could be adapted for multiplayer or massively multiplayer gameplay? For example,
World of Warcraft II - You are a lone unit lead by a tactical commander who gives you orders to march into battle and raze the enemy stronghold. You have no levels or stat gain of any kind. You have like, 5 HP man. That's fucking life.
Zelda wind waker? Bigger maps ofcourse and different ships. It would relly more on skill (rolls/parrys etc) rather than stats (but there would have to be some stat system though).
Players could start off on different starting islands, each would have the basic newbie dungeon, slightly higher newbie dungeon etc then you could build a boat and venture out!
Trade routes could form and parts of the sea could be made tame if more people sail it.. aw dude this would rock.
Most MMOs ive seen have all been land based, taking to the sea would rock imo.

Instance system for dungeons and newbie island? More dungeons completed = more stats?
Enemies drop stuff that you can use yourself or use on your ship. Dont want that spear? Tie it to the front of your ship and ram into crap.

Yeah, >>1 needs to play Savage!! Too bad only a select few JP players play online anymore, because it's basically EXACTLY what you describe.
Also, I would pay to play Viewtiful Joe or Megaman Battle Network online.
OH YEAH YU-GI-OH ONLINE LOL

What about gundam? Something like side sory 0079: rise from the ashes. Something a little more 'military'

I'd say Naruto would make a good MMO.. minus the main characters... maybe everyone from jounin and above could be NPCs.
You choose what village to start in, choose and raise stats like RO, gain more skills along the way, etc etc.
Do coop missions, have exams, etc etc.

Some real good mmofps would be really cool. As for exemple, instead of another shitty WoW-like, the future warhammer mmorpg game could have been a 3rd or 1st person action game, with huge constant battle.
Imagine a game like dynasty warrior with 5000 nerds playing at the same time.
No grindbullshit anymore and huge mass battles, that's what we want !.
Anyway, with all the fucking heroic fantasy mmorpgs they are trying to constantly feed us with. Soon, this kind of mmorpg will be hard to sell since most of players are beginnig to be bored of this bullshit.

dynasty warriors offline is already boring enough as it is.. and you want to make it a MMO? I can't see how spamming the same 2 attack buttons over and over again online would be fun.
