Don't delete me!

I just got a VeiwLoader Triad from a liquidator and I really don't know all that much about paintball but love the game, I was wondering if I could for the sake of keeping myself away from fire, put black or colored electrical tape around the shiney muzzle and if there would be any adverse affects to doing that.
