Let's resurrect Ultima Online

So ok, some people loved UO but it got shitty for whatever reasons and they quit. But all you who have once played it know it deep inside - you can't escape it. It calls out to you every day, sometimes louder, sometimes quieter.

Anyway, through extensive cooperation with veterans who browsed /v/, we found UO Gamers: Hybrid(http://www.uogamers.com), a Renaissance based shard which runs on RunUO. So, some people will start with UO again, I hope, and we can all merryly form a guild and gank people or something, whatever. Here are some easy steps to get you going:

Anyway, IF THIS IS TRUE THEN HERE IS WHAT YOU DO:
1)Download&Install UO
http//www.downl/...
2)Download&Install Razor(you'll also need to have .NET Frameworks for this)
http://www.runuo.com/razor/
3)Start Razor, select 2D client and UO Gamers:Hybrid
4)Login(account creates automatically), create char aaaaand
5)Profit!

Also, just for coordination, post which char you'll make!

    I was reading that UO thread in /v/ the other day and I'm surprised you managed to actually get 8 people from here to play UO back then and put together a guild and go ganking. (Cause no one ever plays that shit =P)

    Anyways, if darkfall ever comes out hopefully if it doesn't suck, hopefully there should be a 4chan guild there for griefing and exploit(z) and racial slurs and the killing of pack animals.

I used to play UO so much, years ago... I miss it. However, those were the days before I became a linuxfag. I wish I could run it without booting into Windows :(

Anyone interested in bringing this back? I had a lot of fun last year, even if there were only four people in the guild at any one time and we never got to do much combat. I'm looking around to recruit more potential players, that should make things a bit livelier.

I still have UO installed with UO gateway and razor, I could log in anytime

If we get people to play, we just need to show them how to macro with razor which is easy if they have half a brain

just let the game run for like a week macroing then you can pvp all you want and harass newbs but finding a server with people to harass can be an issue

So is this happening?  I also have Razor + UO installed but haven't touched it in two years.

I'll be lurking in #4ch-UO on Rizon as well as the old guild channel #4chanuo. I'm hoping to get some people from 4-ch to sign on, too.

If you want to set up an impromptu meet I have UO ready to go here anytime; I'm just not very good at being punctual (hence the IRC channels.) Anyone has a better idea on how to do this, shoot.

I came. I haven't played this in years. I tried to get on those other unofficial servers, but there were always like 2 people on and on one I knew.

I've only played on one server, and that's the unofficial UO Hybrid one from last year. Lots of people on at one time; of course the downside is that there are hundreds of PKers waiting to swoop down on anyone who looks remotely profitable. The dungeons are pretty much unplayable because of the campers who sit around waiting for newbies to come along so they could ambush them.

With our guild's small numbers, we didn't even try to compete. Everything we needed, we made ourselves and if we needed money we gave loans to each other or killed bog things. Kind of like a commune. It never really advanced beyond that, though, which is probably why things fell apart.

This time around I'd like to have strength in numbers, maybe form coalitions with other guilds. Either that or find a better server.

I'll be making a tamer and a fisher.  Both named "Gaseous".  I'll hang around #4ch-UO.  we'll see how this goes...from the thread response, i don't think we'll get very far. but whatever.  I've never made a tamer before, so I'll stick around until I make one at least.
