Shin Megami Tensei: Nine had bar-none, THE worst production values I have ever seen on an Xbox game.  Seriously, who let that shit out the door?  Ugly fonts, barebones utilitarian GUI, and blobby, poorly rendered character models do not a good game make.  I was looking forward to it too, after enjoying the solid gameplay of the old games and the smooth, glossy finish of Nocturne.  Bleh.

well, not to sound like a fanboy (i love my xbox because i can play outrun 2 and spikeout on it), but how high-priority do you suppose an xbox game was for the typical japanese developer during that generation? especially consider that SMT was a series that ONLY sold in Japan when they were working on Nine. even if they made it excellent, it didn't really stand a snowball's chance in hell, sales-wise. considering all that it's really no wonder they'd halfass the game.

how many got into it because of the art? I like Kazuma Kaneko.

I mean, sure there's other reasons, but that's definitely a stand out feature of the SMT games. Sorta like Amano and FF in the SNES era.

Don't change these.
