but the PS3 is going to kill it. Every time I pick up the controller to play PDZ or PGR3 I can just feel the ass kicking PS3 will give this system. 360 is just an Xbox with a new graphics card and a (kickass) wireless controller. I don't know if it's the system or the games, but something about it is lacking. It's just another system, no better off than the original Xbox.
There's no reason why PS3 won't beat Xbox again.

And there is no reason why the Revolution won't beat both the PS3 and Xbox360 again. We are tired of the same formula, what we need is innovation, and that is exactly what Nintendo is bringing us with it's next gen console.

i totally agree. i want innovation, not JUST better graphics and things, though, those are welcome additions. I can't wait to see Revolution game play, it will be the ACTUAL next gen consle.

Revolution? Explain this to me.

Revolution needs to redo that remote or they'll fail, the stigma is just too fucking much. Hell, even I don't want to buy it because of the way it looks, and I got Nintendo crap stretching back to NES. Sofel, Hot-B, all kinds of old obscure companies.

That's exactly the kind of attitude we are trying to avoid. If we stick to the same ideas then there will be no progress.

A lot of Japanese developers look like they're going with the 360, surprisingly. Not only SE with FFXI (since details on the PS3 and network service are too sketchy), but Victor Ireland, president of Working Designs, is planning on working with the 360 to bring some Japanese RPGs he says are in development and should be worth localizing. Sony has also been more stringent on its titles, such as less 2D games, and whatever games they didn't want Working Designs to bring over. Consequently, WD died on the 12th of december. I hate to say it, but Microsoft might be the new PS1-era Sony.

X360 won't have a in Japan market no matter what. Sony's been there for as long as we can remember, and for myself as an asian it just don' feel right for me to put down $ for somethin' american made that has hardly little idea of i look for in games. even though games aren't made my MS by any means, i dunno just anonymous 2 cents

Graphics are very close to hitting the wall now. Everything started looking very lifelike three years ago, and now all the developers are doing is adding extra gloss. More decals, bullet sparks, sweating players, heat waves, and film grain. While all these things are nice, they are all very minor and require heavy duty hardware to run, and they are easily ignored if another game with groundbreaking gameplay enters the scene without all that fancy crap.
As for innovation, the original Xbox went into the fray with the online Live service and a hard drive, with Xbox Live being the innovation that set the new console standard (online SOCOM and Halo play being a big draw for both systems early in their lifespan). As for hardware superiority being key in a console's success, it's a flawed statement. You want hardware superiority? Here, have a 32X. Or Jaguar. Or 3D0. Or CDi. Or N64DD.

Look, no matter how much you want it to happen, Nintendo is NOT going to beat Sony or Xbox. And this is coming from a Nintendo fanboy. You see, everyone says they want "innovation" and a "change" but really when it comes down to it, those people are going to spend their money on something they KNOW is going to be good. Truely, people are terrified of change, they want to feel safe in traditions, or games/systems in this case, and the only way Nintendo is going to get any good chunk of the market is if they prove that their remote control "innovation" isnt going to be just another flop like the powerglove or virtual boy.

Actually, the best shot Nintendo has at beating Sony and Microsoft in the console market is simple:
$$$
The revolution is likely to be less expensive than both its competitors, *significantly* less expensive than what the PS3 is being rumored at. A lot of parents get their kids the cheaper system.

There is a thread just like this. I though I would bring attention to that.
In plain and simple facts. The Playstation 3 has the better hardwear, but with all of that hardwear in it will the games themselfs be maxing out on it by the time it is relesed?
If not, which they probly wont. how soon after that can Sony throw out another system?
You have to think that Microsoft, Bill Gates and all his billions, are the makers of the 360. If the PS3 IS that great then what is stoping Microsoft from relesing another system shortly after the PS3? Nothing realy, and with it being a computer company they have greater acess to the technogly needed for their systems.
While sony has been around a while, dosen't mean it will last. Microsoft can , just my oppinion, very esily get some of the top names in games to devlope for his system. If you want an example: 360 has already gotten a deal with Square Enix to produce a FF style, or FF itself, for their system. Previusly the only consol system that game was avlible for was the Sony Playstation. The only thing that is slowing microsofts progress on eliminating the Sony PLaystation all together is the right of choice. Some people will just always chose the Playstation, for what ever their reasons. What if Micrsoft starts puting out the same titles, or an equvilent to those titles, for the 360?
