WHY DQ isn't popular in America

Well...I have a question.
Why the Dragonquest (In America it called DragonWarrior) isn't popular in America?
DragonQuest is most popular RPG in Japan (than finalfantasy).
It's wonder for me.
WHY?
Could you tell me your thinking(opinion?)about it?

In my opinion,DQ8 will sell well in US.First DQ8 have very pretty and cartoony graphics and Dragon Ball style character design,it's so cool.Secondly,SE adds voice for each character ,and the voices match the characters perfectly.The sound in Dragon Quest VIII is truely amazing. More importantly,the US version of DQ8 includes a playable demo of FF12,DQ and FF fans will purchase this game,this will really boost the sales of DQ8.BTW，I am a DQ fan，I consider DQ4 and DQ6 to be masterpieces. My language is English,excese me if i have bad English.
