Spoilers and shit, so watch out.
I'm a big Persona fan and have enjoyed Nocturne and to a lesser extent, DDS1.
However I'm having my doubts about DDS2. Now we find out that Sera is an adult with the mind of a 7-year old, who's the only one with special powers to read data from God or some such.
I think at this point there must be a million video games and anime that focus on a female character who is either a child or acts emotionally like a child, who is either 'perfect' in design or is an alien/ancient being/robot/other non-human, and this character has the ability to save the world or other stuff like that.
So it's very disappointing that the normally unique RPG games Atlus makes now has this incredibly over-used and done to death plot twist. I had a bad feeling when I heard the shitty jpop intro song too (oh, I'm a Japanese woman singing like a soulful black singer - it doesn't work and that sound is so tiring now)
Have other die-hard fans found this disappointing? Is Atlus losing their originality or is this just a temporary setback? To sound totally ignorant I realize the Japanese are obsessed with little girls so it's important for them to center everything around that, but jesus fuck is it tiring to see that same thing played out over and over. I've enjoyed Atlus' earlier games because they *didn't* rely on cliched plots.
Who did the music for DDS2, btw, it's OK but not as catchy as DDS1 or Nocturne.
