Is dot Hack actually good?

I've been avoiuding Dot Hack in all it's forms.  Is it worth it to play through all four games, or just avoid it?

Not really. Better off watching the TV series. (Either one, your choice.) I played through the first and didn't see much correlation. The combat is really boring too. It's too MUCH like an MMO. Run up. Hit attack, hit attack, hit attack, heal, hit attack, level up. Repeat on next monster. I like the OAV's story, or would, judging from the first....but damned if I'm going to have that second useless disc laying around.
