I got a black one, besides being a nice added layer of protection, its biggest benefit is definitely the grips it provides on the bottom of the system, making all button games especially Band Brothers much easier to play. Oh plus it makes it look overall much more "cool" or stylish looking, to some. Sure it does add a considerable amount of more bulk to the system, but as the old addage goes: "BUY PANTS WITH BIGGER POCKETS, DS DEMANDS IT"
Personally I feel no OG DS should be without Protect/Battle Armor.
