slimline: worth it?

alright. I was wondering if I should try and get the slimline PS2, or just keep my old SCPH-30001 R, which is working the way it should. runs dvd's, regular (white?) cd's, and blue cd's in 5-8 seconds, and I don't get bad in-game load times or skipping.. yes, I have played gta:sa on it for a week, and it runs every other ps2 game I have just fine. (only had to clean it once)

is $150 really worth it for the slimline ps2's?

Har har! Anyways, I'll say what I said before in more detail... If you've got a cool looking room with a nice set up, then I think one of those babies would compliment it nicely. But if you've got an average joe gamer abode and don't really have anyone to impress, I say save your cash for more games, especially since cheap PS2 titles are always in abundance.

hmm the original ps2 looked better, the slimline just looks tacky and flimsy because they didn't really redesign it to fit the new size.

The slimline is rather small. Personally I think the lid is somewhat flimsly seeming and likely to break off if you don't put it somewhere untouched by anything else.

Is it worth it to get another PS2? I wouldn't think so. Also wouldn't be worth it if you plan to mod right now.
