Wow. You're a moron. Have a brewski. But yeah, Blizzard works their asses off for our 14 a month, and although I wish they'd have more content updates, I'm glad they're working hard to keep the wheels greased. Great game.

they will have more regular content updates soon. remember, they sold their *year's projected sales* in the first month. they've doubled the number of servers and have upgraded hardware for a number of realms at least twice now. thus, they've been heavily focused on the hardware and backend portion of the game, and less on new features or additional content.
between the troubles with blades and oracle db's, it's a wonder they were able to accomplish as much as they've done. (i play on icecrown, aka icedown, one of the most-affected servers)
fine-tuning the db's for extra performance requires basically taking them down, tweaking things, and putting'em up and listening for the scream of the users. there's no "how-to" for this kind of stuff.

Also consider that by and large, nobody at Blizzard has ever made an MMO before, they deliberately tried to get as many people who knew NOTHING about MMO design on board and make up new ways of development. Considering that they reinvented the wheel to get where they are, they've done a truly astonishing job.
Yes. There are problems.
Problems mainly attributable to the astonishing rate of growth the game has undergone. They literally sold a year's worth of product in a month. The game when from nothing to rivalling EQ in size in 30 days.
Think about that.

A wonderful business accomplishment, but as a game it's clearly a failure.
Wow. Thanks for making your points about -why- it's shitty. Go back to Sega Bass Fishing.

Most people who complain about content and the $14 a month have NO idea how much goes into keeping a project like WoW online and running. It`s a HUGE effort on their part.
And I`ll agree with >>11 in saying that I`m glad that it`s NOT free. Things being free always attracts more of the people most others don`t want to see there.
Think about it like performance sports cars. Personally, I don`t want to see every other moron out there with a Ferrari. Most people can`t drive a Ford Escort three miles without getting in an accident. Save the better things in life for the people willing to work a little for them.

Prefered solution: Dump your sports car in a safe place and buy a surplus BT-7. Then chicken every person like that on the road. Crunchy. If everyone who previously owned a performance or luxury car does this, then the n00b idiots will be scared back into their SUVs like they should be.
Regardless, I like pay to play games. A lot. It`s amazing how caustic a lot of morons find a simple $15 a month.
Of course, there`s always the problem of the script kiddies who live off of their parent`s credit card. Another strory all together. (Personal Opinion, make 18+ servers where not only do they check the credit card owner`s age, but also check and make sure that the account holder and credit card holder are one in the same. Also, make it a cancelable offense to share one`s account.)
Note: Before the flames start, I`m aware that there actually do exist some pre-highschool diploma people out there that are decent players, but even they have to admit that the MAJORITY of asshats online are under 18. Call it a necessary evil if you want, but 18+ servers need to happen. The day I see a 18+ PVPRP server on WoW would be a great day.)

I have never played any game for more than a month before. But now i play WoW for 3 months (not counting the korean and european beta which is another month) and I still love it like on day one.
So.. imo.. best game ever.
But seriously... I`ve been playing since January, and never before has an MMO held my attention as long as WoW has. The content updates are pretty exciting too. Just needs a touch more balancing >_<
