The Great Famine (Irish: An Gorta Mór[1] or An Drochshaol, lit: The Bad Life) was a period of starvation, disease and mass emigration between 1845 and 1852[2] during which the population of Ireland was reduced by 20 to 25 percent.[3] Approximately one million of the population died and a million more emigrated from Ireland's shores.[4] The proximate cause of famine was a potato disease commonly known as late blight.[5] Although blight ravaged potato crops throughout Europe during the 1840s, the impact and human cost in Ireland—where a third of the population was entirely dependent on the potato for food—was exacerbated by a host of political, social and economic factors which remain the subject of historical debate.[6][7]

Avoid trans fat, high fructose corn syrup, packaged foods with preservatives, brand name candy. Choose wheat bread and brown rice over white bread and white rice. Eat more vegetable carbs and whole grain carbs than empty carbs. Eat more fish and poultry than pork and red meat. Eat pasta, fish, eggs, random vegetables. Look for cheap canned and packaged food that's still healthy. Hang out with people who can cook for you.

I've heard Raw Milk (that's milk that is unpasteurized, not homogenized, etc) is alleged to be far healthier to drink than the "normal" processed variety. Same goes for food that is raw and uncooked. Of course you'd have to be careful with that for obvious reasons.
If OP lives on the northern hemisphere, he can try to grow a garden of fruits and vegetables. Summer is drawing near, and now is a good time to start consuming healthy food.

Oh, forgot to mention, in some U.S. states, raw milk is illegal to purchase, though there are some loopholes that can be exploited in some areas. It's completely illegal in Canada. For more info on that go to http://www.realmilk.com/

land of the free my ass.
if i wanna suck on a cow's teats nobody should stop me.
and what's with bestiality being illegal? so long as the animal doesn't understand wtf is going on, so what if you don't have consent? you don't have the animals consent to cage it, kill it, and eat it either.

Bestiality is a danger to the entire world. Don't you know what happened in Sodom and Gomorra?

Canada is worse, you can't legally have access to raw milk at all over there.

Oh and those loopholes are mostly things like selling the raw milk as ``pet food'', ``bath milk'', or a ``herd share program'' -- basically you become a shareholder of the milk that the cow produces and that can be used to sort of skirt the law in some areas.
