i've been a whore for cheap american chinese food all my life. most of the extra-greasy (extra good? Lol) places I go to offer up a ketchup-like condiment, and it is amazing. sort of like a sweet and mildly spicy ketchup deal, goes good on bbq pork, fried shrimp, and other things. I pour it on my rice because I'm nasty, apparently.
so... anyone know what this shit is, and where I can buy a gallon or two?

I know what you're talking about. Forget what its called, but its japanese, not chinese. Try an oriental food store

I thought it was just duck source?

Dunno the name, but it isn't duck sauce. Duck sauce is more orange and syruppish. Other stuff looks exactly like ketchup, same color and consistancy.
Also interested in finding its identity.
