I need to diet

Im looking to loose some serious weight like 40lbs, im not exactly sure where to start so i decided to ask her, whats the best way to loose weight? i know you guys know alot about food and what it does to you so i figured this was a good place to ask.

To start there are some things you should avoid at all costs:
Trans fat.
Empty Calories (white flour bread especially)
Most processed foods (anything with a nutrition label that reads like a chem project)
Pork, and fatty cuts of meat.

The way I did it other than that is eating 6 small meals per day (about 300 calories) with each meal including: (1) a fruit or vegetable (2) Lean source of protein.  (3) Whole grains.  Makes for a pretty balanced diet and you can go online to a health-freak site to find some decent recipies.

Of course, excersize is a must also.  You will absolutely not keep the weight off if you only excersize or only eat well.  20 minutes of 65-80% MHR (max heart rate) and mild weight training is a good start.

Your body needs adequate resources to do all its functions including: 8 glasses of water, 8 hours of sleep, All vitamins (multi-vitamin daily) and healthy stress levels.

If you go with the six small meals just make sure theyre small, you'll feel hungry and gain a tiny bit of weight and then after about a week you'll feel the results.

It's going to be hellish and will probably take you being disciplined across six months.  Use nutritiondata.com as a reference.  Understand what calories actually mean in relation to your metabolism.  A pound of fat is 3600 calories, so if your natural metobolic rate is 2200 calories a day and you only eat 1500 calories a day, it will take 5 days for you to lose a pound.

It's pretty simple, just eat less and stop being a fatass.

whatever you do, just dont cut food completely. bring it down gradually, otherwise your body will think its being starved of the usual intake and well. it will store all the fat meaning all the discomfort of being empty and hungry for nothing. just bare that in mind :)
