Rice Cooker Bread

350g  (1.5 cup)    bread flour
21g   (4.4tsp)     butter
21g   (4.4tsp)     sugar
35cc  (35 ml)      milk
180cc (180ml)      water
5g    (1tsp)       dry yeast
6.5g  (1.4tsp)     salt

1) Mix all ingredients except butter in rice cooker bowl
2) Mix butter in
3) Knead thouroughly until no longer sticky
4) Primary fermentation: 60 minutes (ferment inside rice cooker)
5) Drop the bread from a height of 50cm to release gas
6) Secondary fermentation: 60 minutes
7) Switch rice cooker on, bake for 60 minutes
8) Turn over, continue cooking
9) Turn over and cook one more time

I got the recipe from the anime Yakitate!! Japan. I'm going to try it as soon as I have time to buy some yeast, which will probably be tomorrow. I will report back with results when I have finished.

Wow, I completely forgot I made this thread. The bread worked, but my rice cooker is really old so it couldn't get hot enough to cook it all the way. So I had some mediocre undercooked bread.

I made this. It takes a long time to get it cooked correctly, but when it's done it's pretty good. I found it a little cake-like simply because a rice cooker doesn't get as hot as an oven. It's awesome if for no other reason than the fact it's bread made in a rice cooker.
